CCD Custom Gauges require the removal of the needles.

Step A. Important: These instructions need to be followed for proper gauge needle placement. Start vehicle and warm up the engine to running temperature. While the engine is running, take a piece of paper and note the position of each needle for each gauge set that use a needle in your dash. Save this piece of paper to refer to when you re-install the gauge needles in Step 6c bellow.

Step 1. Remove all screws retaining the dash trim bezel in place. This is done with a Phillips head screwdriver. Some dashes require just a simple pull to remove them.

Step 2. Remove the screws holding the instrument cluster in place, and then remove the cluster. Be careful to remove all wired plugs from the back of the cluster.

Step 3. Remove the clear plastic lens that covers the gauges. This is done by either depressing the tabs on either side of the cluster or by removing the retaining screws.

Step 4. If your gauge has a black trim piece surrounding the gauges, it will need to be removed. If your gauge has two screws on both sides of the needle, they need to be removed.

Step 5. Remove all the needles with a kitchen fork. Remove the factory gauge faces and replace them with your new set of CCD Custom Gauges.

Step 6. To Re-install your gauges:

Temporarily reinstall your cluster by plugging the cluster back in.
Start your engine.
Refer to your sketch from Step A above, and reinstall all the needles in the proper location and proper reading to match your sketch. If you feel that your gauge is not reading correctly, remove the needle and reinstall again until you are pleased with your readings.
Turn off engine, remove cluster again and continue on.

Step 7. Reinstall the black trim piece or screws from Step 4 above.

Step 8. This step may or may not be required, depending on the design of your gauges. If your new gauges require an external power source (reverse glow gauges), they will need to be wired into the car's electrical system. The best way to do this is to wire them into the headlight switch, so that they will turn on and off when the headlights are, just like the originals. Remove the headlight control unit from the dash by removing the two Metric hex bolts and sliding the unit out. Find with a voltage tester the wire that is have voltage when the headlights and shorts lights are on. Also turn off the headlight switch to check if the wire don’t have electricity off. This will take you some time finding the right wire. But onetime you find it connect the red (or positive) wire to this headlight wire using whatever method is most convenient for you. The negative (or black) wire in your new gauges should be attached to a good chassis ground.

Step 9. Test the new gauges to make sure that your electrical connections are correct.

Step 10. Now you can reinstall your gauge cluster by following steps 1 to 4 in reverse order. Next put on your free CaribbeanCustomDesigns.com sticker (need to be requested on each order), tell all your friends where you got your gauges, and go drive and enjoy your new custom gauges.
